The Start of my Journey

Back in 2017, my husband and I made a big move to Okinawa, Japan—a tiny island paradise. He was in the military, and we were very excited about starting this crazy adventure together. But little did I know, this little island was about to flip a switch in me to live a more sustainable lifestyle.
It all started with our beach trips. I would walk along the shore line, soaking in the sun, when I started noticing plastic bits everywhere, mixed up with the coral, seaweed, and sand. Some were so tiny, I’d mistake them for food or shells. And if I could make that mistake, imagine how tough it is for the wildlife.
Then came more items—plastic jugs, water bottles, toothbrushes, plastic bags, you name it—all washed up by the waves. Every time we hit a different beach, it was like a plastic treasure hunt, except way less fun. Storms made it even worse, throwing even more junk onto the shore.
It took a minute, but it finally hit me: most of this wasn’t left by people - it was coming from the ocean itself. So, I started thinking, even if we’re recycling, some of the plastic still ends up here.
I started my journey researching ways to shrink our footprint on this beautiful planet. I found some amazing companies on the same green wavelength, from sustainable kids clothes, native plants to eco-friendly skincare.
I’m so excited to share this journey with you all.
Let’s make this world a kinder, cleaner place for all of us to call home.
